0DTE options explained: what zero days to expiration means

0DTE options expire the same day they're traded. What that means, why prices move so fast, and the risks to understand before copying them.

What 0DTE means

DTE stands for days to expiration. A 0DTE option expires at the end of the same trading day. SPX, the S&P 500 index, has options expiring every trading day, which made 0DTE trading popular.

Why prices move so fast

With only hours left, an option's price reacts sharply to small moves in the underlying index. A position can double or lose most of its value in minutes, and an out-of-the-money option can expire worthless.

Buying power and day trades

Some brokers apply a separate day-trading buying power limit. If yours is $0, same-day trades may be refused even when your regular buying power is fine.

How CNKTID handles them

Copied entries get take profit and stop loss protection, closing orders are never blocked by buying power checks, and expiration-day guards apply. None of this removes the risk of loss.
